We have tentatively scheduled our membership meeting to vote on officers for the evening of April 19 in downtown San Francisco just off Market St, near Sansome and Bush St. (details will be posted here once the conference room reservation is confirmed), so this is your 30-day notice that nominations are open.  Self-nominations are very welcome.

According to ASQ's documentation, "30 days before the Nominating Committee slate is presented, a call for nominations is published to the general membership with instructions for adding their nomination by petition (see template)."  The template mentioned is available here ( http://asq.org/2010/01/member-unit-nomination-petition-form.doc ).  Based on our current membership, you would need 15 other members' signatures to be nominated.

An easier method is to submit your name and qualifications to the Nominating Committee, which will be coming up with its own slate at a committee meeting on April 5, to be presented at the April 19 election meeting.  If you are interested in a leadership position and want to bypass the nomination petition process, just contact Rob Power via this web form ( http://asq-sf.com/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&catid=12&id=1:rob-power ).  The committee will submit the most qualified candidate for each officer position (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and possibly Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect) in its slate on April 19.  If there are additional nominations submitted via the petition process, we will vote on those offices at the April 19 member meeting.  If any positions on the committee's slate are uncontested via the petition proess, those positions will win election by acclamation at the member meeting on April 19.

In addition to the three officer positions (Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer), we are also looking for several other Leader Committee positions to be appointed by the new officers.  The list of those positions is available here ( http://asq.org/members/leaders/sections_divisions_positions_list.pdf ).  If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Rob Power via this web form ( http://asq-sf.com/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&catid=12&id=1:rob-power ).

If you have any problems with the nomination form, please contact Rob Power via this web form ( http://asq-sf.com/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&catid=12&id=1:rob-power ).
